Privacy policy
Last updated October 2026
This policy explains what information Meridiem Daily (“we”, “us”) collects when you visit meridiemdaily.com, why, and the choices you have. We keep data collection to the minimum needed to run the site and pay for it with advertising.
What we collect
- Server logs. Like every website, our hosting provider records technical data such as your IP address, browser type, the page requested and the time. We use it to keep the site secure and working.
- Reading counts. When you open a story, your browser tells us which story was read so we can show “Most popular”. This count is not linked to you, and we store no identifier for it beyond a temporary flag in your browser session.
- Your cookie choice. We save your answer to the cookie banner in your browser’s local storage so we do not ask on every visit.
- Messages you send us. If you email us, we keep the message and your address so we can reply.
We do not have user accounts and we do not ask readers for payment details.
Advertising and cookies
We use Google AdSense to show ads. Google and its advertising partners may use cookies and similar technologies, including advertising identifiers, to serve ads based on your visits to this and other websites. Google’s use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads to you based on your visit to this site and/or other sites on the internet.
- You can opt out of personalised advertising in Google Ads Settings, or visit aboutads.info to opt out of third-party vendors’ use of cookies for personalised advertising.
- Choose “Essential only” on our cookie banner and we will ask for non-personalised ads.
- Learn how Google uses data from sites that use its services at policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites.
Sharing
We share data only with the services needed to run the site: our hosting and database providers, and Google for advertising as described above. We do not sell personal data.
Your rights
Depending on where you live (for example, under the GDPR in the EEA and UK, or the CCPA in California), you may have the right to ask what personal data we hold about you, to have it corrected or deleted, and to object to certain processing. Email hello@example.com and we will respond within 30 days.
Children
This site is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their personal information.
Changes
If we change this policy we will update the date above. Questions? See our contact page.
